President Donald Trump retweeted three videos posted by Christian activist, Jayda Fransen, and now she is appealing to him for assistance as she faces prison time stemming from ‘hate speech’ charges.

Trump triggered a predictable international uproar after sharing the videos which purport to show a variety of violent acts committed by Muslims around the world.

Ms. Fransen, a Christian nationalist and leading figure in the Britain First political party, seized the opportunity to highlight her predicament and issued a plea to President Trump to intercede on her behalf before she is sent to jail for up to two years if convicted for speaking out against Islam at an anti-terrorism rally in Belfast, Ireland.

Irish police later arrested her in London and charged her for ‘threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior,’ and brought her back to Belfast for interrogation.

“This is a message to the President of the United States, Donald Trump,” she said in a video that has accrued nearly 10,000 likes in one day. “You’ve shed light on my plight here in Britain, in that I am facing prison for giving a speech in which I criticized Islam.”

“This is evidence that Britain has become Sharia-compliant, and our establishment has now instituted legislation that constitutes blasphemy laws here in the UK.”

“On behalf of myself and every citizen of Britain - and for everyone, every man and woman that has fought, bled and died for us to have the freedom of speech, I am appealing to you for help,” she continued. “I am appealing for your intervention, before I am thrown in jail and others receive the same treatment for simply speaking out. God bless you, Donald Trump.”

UK prime minister, Theresa May, took exception with Trump’s tweets, with her spokesman chiding, “It is wrong for the President to have done this.”

Trump fired back shortly after, tweeting at May, “@Theresa_May, don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

London’s Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, called Britain First a “vile, extremist group that exists solely to sow division and hatred in our country,” and called for May to pressure Trump to delete his tweets.

“It's increasingly clear that any official visit from President Trump to Britain would not be welcomed,” Khan said in an official statement.

Prominent UK journalist Katie Hopkins blasted Khan in return, responding, “And there was me thinking it was mad Muslim jihadis slaughtering our children & slotting pedestrians that sow hatred. Trump is vital.”

“Trumps tweets expose the U.K. for what it is. Divided by Islamic terror," Hopkins added. "Silenced by the intolerant left. And desperate to free itself from the feeble narrative of appeasing leaders. We do not stand united.”
